About Us

Community North Baptist Church was formed on June 19, 2005, when two historic McKinney churches--North Baptist Church and Community Avenue Baptist Church--both voted to consolidate and become one new church with the name Community North Baptist Church. Dr. Bruce Austin  became the pastor of Community North Baptist Church.

Community North Baptist Church is a New Testament body of believers in Jesus Christ. Community North saw a vision for reaching out to a new area, have heeded the prompting of the Holy Spirit, and have stepped out in faith and obedience as God has provided miraculously for the realization of this vision in order that He might be glorified.

We are a mainstream Baptist community of faith, hope, and love in McKinney, Texas. Our mission (purpose) is to worship and serve God by proclaiming the Good News; accepting all people; meeting their needs; nurturing and equipping all believers. (Matthew 28:19-20; Mark 12:28-31; Galatians 5:1; Galatians 3:26-28; Hebrews 10:25)

Community North operates by a democratic congregational form of church government. We are affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptist Convention

Our statement of faith is the "Baptist Faith and Message" 1963.
